Assigning an administrator to a sub-org

Global administrators can restrict an admin ID to a specific sub-org setting. Sub-orgs are labels you define to categorize your knowledge platform.

The administrator ID you select must be restricted to an organization before you can assign it specific sub-org values.

To assign an admin ID to a specific sub-org:

  1. Open the Admin Tasks side-tab and click Manage Admins. Manage Admins opens.

  2. Use the fields in the search window above the results table to locate the appropriate administrator.

    Search Field Description
    Admin ID The admin ID with which the administrator was added.
    Restricted to Organization

    The organization to which the administrator's access is restricted. ALL specifies to show the administrators that have access to all the organizations.

  3. Select the admin ID you want to assign and click Assign Administrator. Alternatively, you can right-click the admin ID and select Assign Administrator. The Assign Administrator window opens.

  4. On the Assign Administrator window, use the sub-org drop-down lists as needed to select the appropriate sub-org settings. To select all the sub-orgs, click All. To select more than one sub-org, click Select Multiple and use the Select Sub Orgs window to select the appropriate sub-orgs while holding down the Ctrl key. When you are finished selecting multiple sub-orgs, click Select and then Return Selected items.

  5. Click Add. The assignment is added in the list.

  6. Click Close when you are finished adding assignments.

The assignment changes are saved.
