Adding a course resource

You can add a course resource to a course.

To add a resource to a course:

  1. Open the Curriculums/Courses side-tab and click Manage Courses. The Manage Courses page opens.

  2. Use the fields in the search window above the results table to filter the list of courses. Use the fields as follows:

    Search Field Description
    Org ID Org ID under which the course is registered.
    Course ID

    Enter any combination of letters and numbers to search for any courses that contain that combination in the Course ID.

    Title Enter any combination of letters and numbers to search for any courses that contain that combination in the title. 
    Description

    Enter any combination of letters and numbers to search for any courses that contain that combination in the description. 

    Course Type Use the list to the select the type upon which to search.
    Price Enter any combination of numbers to search for any courses that contain that combination in the price. 
    Include Inactive Enable this check box to include inactive courses in the results.
  3. Select the course ID of the course to which you want to add resources and click Content. Alternatively, you can select the course ID, right-click on the table and select Content. The Content dialog box opens.

  4. Click Resources. The Course Resources dialog box opens.

  5. Click Add. The Add Resource window opens.

  6. Complete the fields in the Add Resource dialog box as follows:

    Field Description

    Course ID

    The ID for the course.

    Resource ID

    An ID associated with the resource. This field cannot be updated.

    Description

    A short description of the resource.

    Version

    The version number of the resource.

    Allow Student Access

    When selected, students are allowed access to the resource.

    Resource to Add

    Specifies the file name of the resource. Click Browse to locate and select the resource file.

    The resource file cannot be larger than 500mg in size.

The resource is added to the course

If a student has not opened (viewed) a resource from within the course on the My Courses tab, an New icon will display to the right of the resource stating that it is new and will stay there until the document is actually read.

If a resource was updated since the last time the user opened (viewed) it, there will be an Updated icon to the right of the resource stating that it had been updated.

  You can attach the zipped file of your course so you will always have access to the actual course program code. Be sure to un-check Allow Student Access.
